  BEACHES

Polgwidden Cove

AT TREBAH GARDEN

Polgwidden Cove, located at the bottom of Trebah Garden, is a quaint little beach located on the north side of the Helford river. Known for crystal clear waters, and playing an important role in WWII, your dog will love sniffing around this pebble beach.

It’s important to note that Polgwidden is only accessible via the garden, and doggies must be kept on a lead as they go around the garden, as well as on the beach. With drinking bowls and even doggy ice cream available from the Boathouse Café, your dog will thank you for bringing them here!

Mylor Beach

FALMOUTH

Mylor beach is very dog-friendly, allowing dogs to roam free all year round.

The nearby Cafe Mylor is also dog-friendly and is situated on the harbour, making it a great stop for a walk. You access Mylor via a scenic walk from Flushing, which can include a ferry trip for you and your dog to start your adventure. You can enjoy water activities with your dog like kayaking and even stand-up paddleboarding.

Dogs are permitted on the beach all year round without a lead.

Carne & Pendower

ROSELAND PENINSULAR

Dogs are welcome to Carne and Pendower all year round and there are plenty of places to walk while you are here. Dogs are welcome across the whole site. Please respect the local byelaws to keep all dogs on a lead on the beaches in the summer and take extra care on cliff paths.

Carne and Pendower is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna, both on land and in the sea. With this in mind we ask visitors to keep your dog on a short lead to keep wildlife disturbance to a minimum, whilst still being able to enjoy a good walk around the headlands, coast path and beaches.

Local Beaches

The three main beaches near to Pendra Loweth all have seasonal and time restrictions when it comes to dogs, but in the mornings and evenings, plus the winter through to spring, dogs are allowed on these beaches.

  TOP 3 WALKS FOR DOGS

The Working Boat

TO FLUSHING

Start your day off right at The Working Boat with a scrumptious breakfast in our dog-friendly pub. When you’re full, hop on board the Falmouth Water Taxi from our private pontoons, across the harbour, to our neighbours in Flushing. Stroll around the pretty village of Flushing, making sure to explore the beach. Then head back to Falmouth via boat (or by walking if you want to stretch those legs even more!) and finish your day with a pint and some pub grub.

Trebah trek

FALMOUTH

Trebah Garden is a sub-tropical paradise nestled in a Cornish valley in Falmouth. With over four miles of footpath, gorgeous greenery and exotic blooms left, right and centre, this dog-friendly garden is perfect for pups and their owners. Trebah also has its own secluded beach on the Helford River. Dogs are welcome to dig their paws in the sand and paddle in the water, but must be on a lead and under supervision at all times.

Pendennis Point

FOR THE CURIOUS DOG

For the dog with a curious nose, take a historical trip around Pendennis Point. Soak up Falmouth’s maritime heritage as you pass the docks and look out across the vast harbour. Pendennis Castle awaits further down the path, and Little Dennis sits on the ocean’s edge. You can do a full circuit starting at the beginning of Falmouth town, taking in the seafront views and looping back to the town centre. With lots of roads, this walk is best for an obedient doggy who stays on the lead.
